FAQs

1. What are your doors made from?

All Designer Doors Syd products are crafted using solid-core construction with premium timber materials. Our stained finishes use Eveneer Romano Crown Cut veneer by Elton Group, ensuring uniform grain, refined texture, and long-term durability.

2. Are your doors Australian-made?

Yes. All doors are proudly manufactured in Sydney using Australian materials wherever possible. Every stage — machining, staining, and finishing — is completed in-house for strict quality control.
Please note: veneer colour and grain may vary as it is a natural timber product.

3. Do you offer custom sizes?

Absolutely. We specialise in custom-sized internal doors. Whether you need additional height, width, or a non-standard thickness, we can manufacture doors to suit your project.

4. Can I choose different stain colours?

Yes. We offer three stain options:

  • Clear Coat (No Stain)

  • Medium Brown (Golden Teak)

  • Dark Brown (Brown Japan)

All stains are applied to the same Eveneer veneer for consistent colour, grain visibility, and premium results.

5. Do the colours on your website match real-life samples?

All doors on our website are displayed in white. The final colour or stain is the purchaser’s choice.
More information on stain selection and colour variation can be found in our Care & Maintenance Guide.

6. How long is the production lead time?

Lead times generally range from 4–6 weeks, depending on design complexity and order volume. Your estimated lead time will be confirmed at the time of ordering.

7. Do you offer installation?

Yes. We have recommended installers who are familiar with our products and can install your door for a fee. Contact us for more details or to be connected with an installer in your area.

8. Are your doors suitable for bathrooms or laundries?

Yes. Our internal doors can be used in wet areas, provided they are fully sealed on all faces and edges to prevent moisture absorption. Direct water exposure will void your warranty.

9. Are your doors compliant with Australian Standards?

Yes. All doors are manufactured in line with the relevant Australian Standards for internal door construction, including AS 2688.

10. How do I maintain my doors?

Clean using a soft cloth and mild detergent only. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and excessive moisture.
For stained or clear-coated finishes, please refer to our Care & Maintenance Guide for best results.

11. Do you offer warranty?

Yes. Our doors include a manufacturer’s warranty covering materials and workmanship. Warranty applies only when doors are installed, sealed, and maintained according to our guidelines.

12. Can I pick up my order?

Yes. Pickup is available from our Sydney warehouse. We will notify you once your order is ready for collection.

13. Do you ship interstate?

Yes. We ship Australia-wide using freight companies that specialise in large and heavy items. Freight costs are calculated based on the size, weight, and delivery location.

14. Do your doors come pre-hung?

No. Our doors are supplied as door leafs only. Hinges, hardware, and handles are installed on site by your installer. Please note: No hardware is include with the doors.

15. Can I paint or stain the doors myself?

Yes, if you order the raw Eveneer option. However, for a premium finish, we recommend using a professional painter or finisher. Improper finishing may void the warranty.

16. What is the standard door thickness?

Our standard thickness is 36mm, but we can manufacture custom thicknesses on request.

17. Do you offer fire-rated doors?

Not at this time. Our current range focuses on premium internal residential doors.

18. How do I place an order?

Orders can be placed directly through our website or by requesting a custom quote. Full payment is required before production begins.

19. Do you offer showroom visits?

Yes — by appointment only. Please contact us to arrange a time.

20. Can you make custom designs?
